Angelite

Angelite is a variety of Anhydrite, a soft form of Gypsum with a hardness of 3.5 on Moh’s Hardness Scale. The original name, Anhydrite was given to the stone by A.G. Werner, a well-known German geologist, in 1804. The absence of water crystallization was Werner’s reason behind the name. The attractive light blue variety, Angelite, was found in Peru in the late 1900’s. Angelite is a strong stone for use on the Throat Chakra, bringing clear communication and expression. A Soothing and peaceful stone that has also been known to enhance one’s physic abilities. It will promote forgiveness by ridding one of fear and anger. Physically Angelite heals many throat problems such as infection and inflammation of the thyroid. It has also been said to help with weight loss.
